.: compulsory basic training

The compulsory basic training (CBT) course combines both theory and practical riding.

Its aim is to provide you with the understanding and awareness needed to ride a motorcycle or scooter safely on the busy public road and it forms the backbone of your future riding skills.

Some of the elements that will be covered are:

* The importance of wearing correct clothing
* The importance of understanding the Highway Code
* Machine controls and basic maintenance
* Riding according to road, traffic and weather conditions
* Basic handling, moving off, braking and stopping
* Gear changes
* Defensive riding techniques
* Observations and signals use
* Correct left and right turn procedures
* Roundabouts
* Emergency stops and U turns

Having mastered these and many other principles on our off road training circuit you will then be taken onto the public road.

Upon satisfactory completion of the CBT course you will receive a CBT Certificate (DL196) and can then take the next step into the wonderful world of motorcycling!
