Mike Benson was a fire fighter based at the fire station in Holywell, who sadly lost his life on 5th June 2007

The 2007 Challenge is to complete the next trip Mike had planned - John O'Groats to Lands End. On 26th October 2007 a number of Mike's biking buddies are setting off from North Wales and heading for John O'Groats, from there it's down to Land's End via York and back to Wales. Over 1800 miles will be covered in Four days with camping all the way - Mikes way !

He passed his Motorcycle test last year and soon became a proficient rider, planning trips with Al as far a field as Morocco. These were to be fund raising events in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance and the FSNBF

The "Challenge" web page is setup and goes live.

Our aim is to continue his dreams.

To this end the Mikeyfire Challenge has been created.

Each year new routes will be planned, growing in both miles and countries.

Why these charities?

It was while Mike and Al were off-roading that the subject of doing these challenges was brought up and the question of "Why not do it for charity? They choose the WAA because they provide life saving services to remote communities, and the FSNBF was chosen because of Mikes work.
